C'est pas bésef en effet et 4 morceaux de source music en plus (alors pour ceux qui se poseraient la question la source music c'est la musique qu'on entend à la radio ou dans l'ascenseur quand les acteurs causent sans qu'il y un nécessité de souligner l'action ou le dialogue par une musique originale), si c'est pas du remplissage qu'est-ce que c'est?

Certes, mais ça ne remplit pas 3cd. En comptant les alternates et l'habituelle reprise de l'album initial, le compte devrait être bon.

Le film est très long (plus de 3 heures) et il y a pas mal de musique. Donc 3 cd’s ça paraît logique surtout s’il l’album d’origine est compris dedans

Improved on all fronts (then again, I'm biased having produced this reissue). Program is pretty much the same as Prometheus one. However, we did correct the end title (and we have the alternate end title as well as a bonus track)

The Challenge est une partition qui se situe entre Capricorne One et The Chairman, une réédition parfaite pour ceux qui veulent (re)découvrir un Goldsmith grand cru des années 80.

Pour THE FURY, je garde mon Varese Deluxe + Varese de l'album Arista d'origine qui contenait aussi le bonus track 'death on the carousel - original version'. Tant pis pour la source music ! Mais je me réjouis pour ceux qui n'avait pas ce fabuleux score.

Ayant un amoir sans bornes pour cette musique, je n'ai pas pu résister au nouveau mastering de THE FURY (l'album), en espérant que je ne serai pas déçu (son bidouillé ?) car les éditions existantes ne déméritaient pas. Ils ont interêt à m'offrir un mastering vraiment bon ET naturel/respectant la source originale, sinon la prochaine fois ce sera sans moi...

We are very excited to be re-releasing one of Mr Goldsmith’s coolest action scores of all time to the John Frankenheimer directed thriller THE CHALLENGE (aka SWORD OF THE NINJA; aka THE EQUALS). This 1982 modern day samurai yarn was scored in arguably Jerry Goldsmith’s greatest and most diverse years as a composer (other scores in 1982 include First Blood, Poltergeist, Secret of NIHM and Inchon). This newly remastered edition features new liner notes by Jeff Bond (celebrating his 50th Jerry Goldsmith project as a writer) and incredible artwork by Mark Banning. As an added bonus we have corrected the finale and replaced it with the proper take (the bonus track includes the other take released on the previous version).
(Please note that it was Mr. Goldsmith himself that wanted the incorrect (and his preferred) take to be included on the Prometheus release and was no fault of the label.)

Spanish composer Javier Navarrete fills in Jerry’s shoes exquisitely with this creepy, sensitive gothic horror score to Joe Dante’s latest opus, THE HOLE. Like his score to the brilliant Pan’s Labyrinth, the score to The Hole is designed to scare, inspire and awe its listeners.

From visionary director Joe Dante comes a suspense thriller that explores the fears and secrets buried deep in the human mind. Life couldn’t possibly get worse, or so thought 17 year old Dane (Chris Massoglia) and his 10 year old brother Lucas (Nathan Gamble), when their single mother Susan (Teri Polo) uproots them from New York City to the sleepy little town of Bensonville. For Dane the only exciting thing about their new town is the beautiful girl next door, Julie (Haley Bennett). With Susan spending more and more time at work, Dane and Lucas are left unattended to explore the depths of their eerie new residence. With Dane paying more attention to Julie, he has far less time and patience for his little brother. But then everything changes when they find a sinister bottomless hole under a locked trap door in the basement. As the brothers experiment with the hole they realize that the cold pit goes on forever. They drop a nail and never hear it hit bottom. They lower a flashlight and a video camera and they get consumed by the darkness. Hoping for some answers about the house's past, Dane and Lucas bring Julie in on their new discovery. When the hole is exposed, evil is unleashed. With strange shadows lurking around every corner and past nightmares coming to life, the trio will have to come face to face their darkest fears to put an end to THE HOLE.

Le Navarrete est excellent, même si le score est horriblement mal mixé dans le film et devient difficilement audible).

Etant un fan absolu de Joe Dante et des scores que Goldsmith composait pour ses films, je suis content de cette sortie.

Ce n'est clairement pas aussi bon que Explorers ou Innerspace, mais force est de constater que le compositeur espagnol ne cherche pas à singer le style de son ainé, et le résultat est un très bon score orchestrale à l'ancienne.

Bonne nouvelle, enfin en ce qui me concerne.

Je connais assez peu Navarrete mis à part le Labyrinthe de Pan que j'adore, donc je me laisserai sans doute tenter, du coup !

Et pour le Goldsmith, ne possédant pas l'édition précédente, achat obligatoire pour moi !

Un avis sur Boogeyman et The Passengers de LoDuca qui sont sur le point d'être Sold Out chez LLL ?
Les extraits du second m'ont bien plu mais j'hésite encore malgré le prix très intéressant.

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures are proud to announce the CD debuts of Elmer Bernstein’s classic scores to THE SHOOTIST and THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER. For THE SHOOTIST, this CD presents the score for the first time in its original form, mastered from ¼" stereo mixes. As for THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER Elmer Bernstein re-recorded and arranged his music from the film for a Columbia Records soundtrack LP released along with the film. The soundtrack album includes adaptations of film cues, sometimes combining two or more into a single track, while other selections begin with music from the film but continue as extended arrangements of specific melodies—which receive more play and development than in the actual film score. Included in this release is the title song performed by Johnny Cash as well as the John Wayne narration. As an added bonus we have also included a version of the title song performed by Ernie Sheldon that was released as a rare single back when the film came out. Sadly nothing of the original score has survived but luckily the fine folks at SONY MUSIC discovered the original master tapes for the Katie LP.

Booklet has nice reversible cover design by Dan Goldwasser -- Shootist on one side and Katie Elder on the other.

Moi je l'aime bien ce score de JNH, reste juste à savoir si ces 25 mn supplémentaires sont indispensables pour un éventuel passage en caisse.
